Butter Cream Frosting



Ingredients:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 tsp Valencia, Almond, or Vanilla extract
  • 5 cups sifted confectioners sugar (1-16oz box = 4 cups)
  • food coloring


In a large mixing bow, blend butter and shortening. Mix on high. Add confectioners sugar and flavor extract. Mix until fluffy, adding water (or milk) as needed. Add coloring as desired. Use to decorate cakes or sugar cookies.
