I'm based outside of Seattle and am a photographer specializing in children and all things winery related. My preference is to shoot in black and white. However, there are times when color is important to the story that the photo needs to tell, and I happily make the transition. I shoot film with a Canon Elan 7 and digital with a Canon 20D. I have an 18-55mm, a 50mm 1.4, a 60mm macro, and a 75-300mm. The 50mm 1.4 is my current favorite.
